Do I have elderly in my Country?

Singapore has been witnessing an increase in the elderly population. 7 % of the population in Singapore is considered elderly i.e., over 65 years of age. And it has been estimated to increase to 19 % by 2030.
Every fourth person will be elderly! That means on average, every family or household has at least one person above age 55. Age-related changes in body and mind begin to appear when a person reaches 50 or 55.
Why do I need to do activities with the elderly?

As a person ages, his personality becomes more stable with the experience he gains. But as he reaches 50, the process is reversed!
Research says that as a person ages above 50, his personality stability begins to decrease instead. Aging brings him back to baby life! Gradually, it becomes a need to do activities with the elderly. Because:
- They develop several illnesses, which require extra care. Especially in the cases of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
- According to the Disengagement theory, aging people begin to withdraw themselves from social gatherings, friends, and other social activities. Which is not safe for mental health for absolutely any person.
Research also shows that seniors who are engaged in social activities are less prone to developing mental disorders, such as dementia and Alzheimer’s and loss of intellectual and cognitive capabilities.
Here we are having some indoor and outdoor activities that you can enjoy with the elderly:
